About Dr. Marla Jahnke

Double Board-Certified Pediatric Dermatologist

"While my accolades are many, my ultimate goal is to care for children with the best interests of the whole family in mind. This is what led me to create Bright Lights."

Choosing a specialist for your child is a significant decision. My approach combines the highest level of academic expertise with the empathy of a physician who understands the "real world" challenges families face.

An Elite Standard of Training

Becoming a fellowship-trained, double board-certified pediatric dermatologist is a rigorous journey. My background includes 13 years of specialized training, encompassing:

  • Premedical Studies

  • Medical School

  • General Pediatrics Training

  • Residency in Dermatology

  • Subspecialty Fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology

Experience & Leadership

Since 2013, I have practiced at the forefront of academic medicine in both Kansas City and Detroit. As an accomplished educator, researcher, and author, I have spent over a decade teaching the next generation of physicians and contributing to the medical literature that shapes how we treat skin disease today.

I bring this same level of academic excellence found in major medical centers directly to your home through Bright Lights.
